The firm put the flags...

The firm put the flags of each of the new nations -Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Cyprus - on the cars. Another MINI was wearing the EU flag. They were part of an international roadshow which took place at Mini-Europe - a tourist attraction with 300 miniature versions of famous landmarks - in Brussels, Belgium.



The famous Ford name...

The famous Ford name is set to return to the BTCC in 2009 after an absence of nearly a decade. Independent team Arena Motorsport has revealed that it will field a squad of Focus STs in next yearò€™s championship. Although not a factory-backed effort, it will mean tin-top fans get to see the seriesò€™ most successful manufacturer back in action. Since 1959, the blue oval has won 10 championships and a total of 219 races.

÷£1.5 MILLION worth...

÷£1.5 MILLION worth of classic cars were sold at the H&H auction at Syon Park last week. All the top cars sold, including the 1929 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Coupe for a third of a million pounds, and a 1935 Mercedes 500K that went for its estimate of ÷£285,000.

You"d think owning one van from Eighties TV series The A-Team would be enough - but not for Peter Nelson. The curator of the Cars of the Stars museum in Keswick, Cumbria, has bought a second: the only other officially recognised vehicle used in the show. The trademark black GMC will be restored before being put on display.
