If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, bosses at Vauxhall should be delighted - but they"re not. Parent firm GM is considering taking legal action against a Chinese car manufacturer for breach of copyright over the design of a recently launched SUV. Vauxhall claims the eastern model, called the Land Wind and made by Jiangling, looks rather too similar to the Frontera soft-roader that used to be sold.

Called the Chevrolet...

Called the Chevrolet Volt, it"s being displayed at this week"s Detroit Motor Show. The machine is the spiritual successor to the EV1 electric car launched by GM in California back in 1996. Unlike that vehicle, however, the Volt can be charged from a standard 240V home socket in three-and-a-half hours, and is said to combine real-world performance with a range of more than 640 miles.

Working away at stubborn...

Working away at stubborn marks on your car can be hard going ò€“ but the Sonic Scrubber Pro Detailer takes over for you. The powered tool now comes with new heads and a rack to keep everything in place.

Weò€™ve tested the Pro Detailer before, and the new version impresses just as much, particularly when shifting brake dust. The three heads include a soft bristle brush, which we found ideal for cleaning delicate areas such as the interior, where it removed dried-on grime without scratching surfaces.

A firmer, cone-style head proved perfect for lifting brake dust from the join between alloy wheel spokes and rim. The medium bristled large brush was more of an all-rounder.

The new set isnò€™t perfect, though ò€“ while the stand keeps all the heads tidy, and makes storage easy on a garage shelf, theyò€™re a loose fit. So, when we moved around the car to work on different areas, they fell out all too easily.
