Seen here badged as the MX-Flexa, the new model has been described by Mazda"s marketing chief, Stephen Odell, as "an incredibly important concept". It"s midway in size between the firm"s current people carriers, the Premacy and the MPV, which suggests it could replace both of these by the end of 2005. It has been designed to set out what Mazda considers the key elements in the MPV segment.

It"s not often you see one car manufacturer advertising another, but the sticker above has started to appear on the back windows of new Daewoos. It"s all part of the Korean company"s promotional push to let customers know that the brand name is being replaced by Chevrolet. And as part of that deal, any customer who buys a new Daewoo before 15 November - with the exception of the Matiz - will be offered the chance to exchange it free of charge for a brand new Chevrolet-badged model next March.
