This type of lamp has been proven to reduce accidents, but unless your car was fitted with them at the factory, your only option has been to drive on dipped beam. And that increases fuel consumption, because the vehicle’s alternator has to work harder.

However, LEDs are much more energy efficient than traditional bulbs – the units in Hella’s newcomers require only 10W of power, compared with the energy-sapping 150W of a normal dipped beam. What’s more, they will last longer, because their lifespan is

up to 10,000 hours – that’s around 30 times the duration of a standard H7 headlamp bulb.

Hella’s range is available with round or rectangular aluminium housings to suit most grille designs. Mounting brackets are included in the price.
