Insurance firm Direct Line has suggested the examination should be adapted to include motorway tuition which informs people how to deal with larger road users at 70mph. There were 6,000 accidents involving lorries in 2003, resulting in 166 deaths.

This is the world’s first right-hand-drive 300C drop-top. Only four have been created by specialist Chrysler Convertible (www.chryslerconvertible.co.uk) in Berkshire. It has scissor doors, a walnut and leather interior, an electric roof and 22-inch alloys.

The ÷£50,000 car can be seen at the Limousine Chauffeur Show at Birmingham’s NEC on September 18-19.
