TOP ChampCar team Forsythe Racing has signed Spanish super sub Oriel Servia to partner Paul Tracy. Servia had been standing in for the injured Tracy at the rounds in California and Texas, finishing
second and fourth respectively. He will replace Mario Dominguez. The season is set to reconvene on 10 June in Portland, Oregon.
FORMER heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman has become a co-owner of the Panther Racing outfit, which has twice captured the IndyCar crown in recent years. Foreman is now more famous in the US for his healthy-eating cooking grills than boxing. Panther entered three cars in last weekend’s Indianapolis 500 for drivers Vitor Meira, Kosuke Matsuura and John Andretti.
AUDI has put former DTM champ Mattias Ekstrom on stand-by to replace seven-time winner Tom Kristensen in its Le Mans driver line-up.
The record-breaking Dane hasn’t raced since suffering whiplash and trauma injuries after a huge high-speed DTM German touring car smash at Hockenheim in April.
“At the moment, we’re assuming that Tom will be fit, but there’s no medical guarantee he’ll be ready to race,” explained Audi Sport boss Dr Wolfgang Ullrich.
