Alfa has sensationally pulled out of May"s British Motor Show, citing a lack of funds. Despite the marque having been at the Geneva expo earlier this month, a spokeswoman told us: "A show stand costs hundreds of thousands, and this year we"re targeting other events." One of those will be the Donington round of the European Touring Car Championship, of which Alfa is the current defending champion. A spokesman for the British Motor Show organiser said: "We are disappointed."

The star has bought a Maybach 57S from the German firm"s Centre of Excellence in Stuttgart. Not content with the standard model, though, the Snakes on a Plane star also ordered a refrigerator, champagne glasses and folding tables. The ÷£293,000 limo will be kept at his California home.
Jackson is an avid Mercedes-Benz fan, and already owns a new S-Class and a classic 280 SE convertible. As the new Maybach 57 S will be driven principally at the star"s home in California, it has also been specially equipped with a solar roof panel, which allows stationary ventilation and regulates the interior temperature of the car as desired.
