The new model is expected...

The new model is expected to hit showrooms late next year, and could make its debut in roadgoing form at the Tokyo expo this autumn. It is likely to deliver 450bhp, and is set to give the Porsche 911 a run for its money, thanks to a range of hi-tech features, including a seven-speed automated manual transmission.

Meanwhile, Infiniti took the wraps off its new G35 saloon at the event. The handsome four-door is set to make it to the UK when the brand arrives here within the next two years.

Powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine producing more than 300bhp, it boasts a trick automatic gearbox. Downshift Rev Matching allows for quicker gear changes when used in manual mode. Sport models have smart magnesium steering wheel-mounted paddles.

The G35 is available with rear-wheel drive or the company"s Intelligent All-Wheel drive set-up. Curvy styling and L-shaped LED rear lights will make the model instantly recognisable.
