The manufacturer has...

The manufacturer has revealed that there is a "good reason" why the NSX Type R will be displayed at next month"s British Motor Show, and that "all will become clear after an important announcement on the stand". This can mean only one thing - confirmation the flagship Type R is finally coming here.

The lightweight NSX promises to be one of the most thrilling and rewarding performance sportsters on the market. We drove the car in issue 713 and were very impressed.

Although the standard version"s 276bhp output remains unchanged, carbon fibre bodywork, a race-spec engine and firmer suspension are enough to make the Type R-badged NSX one of the fastest two-seaters on the road - but don"t expect to see that many in Britain.

Honda plans to sell around 10 a year, each priced about í‚á£65,000 - that"s í‚á£5,000 more than the standard car. Only six specialist dealers will stock the NSX, and a few salesman are thought to have taken deposits before the official green light. First deliveries are due in the summer.
