Autotuning

The firm is better known...

The firm is better known for its speed camera locators, and this is the first time it has launched into another market.

At first glance it looks impressive, as the tool is stored in a toughened plastic carry case. The kit includes a spare fuse and two double-ended drive sockets, which will fit four sizes (17,19, 21 and 23mm) of wheelnuts.

The wrench is heavy, but it has a good rubber grip on the handle, which makes holding it less of a chore. The 12V lead, which fits into the cigar lighter, is long enough to reach the rear wheels of most cars on sale in the UK.

Your vehicle’s manual will tell you the appropriate torque setting needed for your wheelnuts, which you then program into the wrench. Using it is child’s play. Touch the T/L button to light up the digital display, then enter the setting with the up/down control. Each press increases or decreases the shut-off point by 10lb/ft. When our tool got to the pre-planned setting, it automatically shut off, so we didn’t over-tighten it.
