The current Ka"s successor...

The current Ka"s successor is set to appear in 2010, but the Italian firm"s version will go on sale next year. It will resurrect the famous 500 badge, and bosses hope the brand will enjoy the same success that BMW has experienced by bringing back the MINI name.

Both Ford and Fiat newcomers will be built to a tight budget in order to keep prices low, but quality will be a priority for designers. The Ka and 500 will be up against stiff competition from budget-priced models offered by

Korean manufacturers, and will need to offer value, space and refinement if they are to top thecity car class.
