The change in that car"s...
The change in that car"s styling reportedly led the firm"s Italian importer to break out in tears when he saw the ungainly headlamps and reprofiled rear, but this week"s Auto Express magazine"s pictures show that the revised version won"t make the same mistakes.
The new model, which will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, will feature modified, more aggressively styled headlamps and a new tail-end treatment, while the profile of the back window will be altered to give it a more aerodynamic look. Larger alloy wheels and new door handles complete the changes to the exterior, while inside the dashboard is set to get aluminium-effect plastics and a new gearknob on manual models.
Softer plastics and better-quality interior materials will also be used, while the suspension and soundproofing have been modified to reduce vibrations on the move and boost refinement.
The engine line-up will remain the same, with a choice of 1.6 and 2.0-litre four-cylinder units, or the 2.7 V6 flagship. However, the range-topper will increase its power output from 165bhp to 174bhp, which should cut the 0-60mph sprint time from 8.2 seconds to around 7.5 seconds. The facelifted CoupÎó© will reach the UK by the end of the year, with prices similar to the current car"s.
