The RIOT - short for...
The RIOT - short for Re-Invention Of The wheel - is the work of entertainer Jake Lyall. It"s steered by leaning and amazingly has no brake. The only way to slow and stop is by leaning forward to scrape the seatbase along the ground.
Jake is a Londoner whose juggling act led him to California, where he jousts on horseback at medieval fairs and teaches people to fly. "I had a dream about a big monowheel, so I worked out how to do it and built it," the San Francisco-based Brit explained. He had never made anything like it before and the success of the project has clearly gone to his head. Jake plans an electric version to break the monowheel land speed record. He is also taking orders from anyone who fancies their own personalised RIOT. "The price is negotiable!" he said.
