That"s because it"s a pharmacy and, due to a change in the rules regulating chemists, one could be opening near you soon. Currently, there are only two outlets in the UK; both owned by the same firm, Duran, and located in West Bromwich, West Midlands, and Norton Canes, Staffs.

But bosses say they"re planning to expand across the country from April. That"s when new laws are introduced which will allow a chemist that stays open for more than 100 hours a week to be located anywhere.

Senior partner Gurd Chahal told us: "Normally, it would be hard to meet this target due to security issues, but our drive-thru allows us to close the shop and operate through the night with only two employees."

But do we need drive-thru chemists? "It"s ideal for those who only need to pick up a prescription, such as the elderly and disabled," he said.
