Take a look at Renault’s sensational Laguna Coupé! If you were disappointed by the look of the all-new hatchback, the designers have pulled out all the stops for the latest addition to the line-up. The French car maker took the wraps off this concept at the week’s Frankfurt Motor Show, revealing what’s in store when the production car hits the road.

However, while its sleek profile and smooth nose are set to make production, its futuristic interior will be toned down. The showroom car will also have more conventional door handles and lights.

To ensure it has outstanding handling and improved safety, the flagship Laguna will have the same four-wheel steering as the GT hatchback. Engines will also be shared with the five-door, so buyers will be able to choose from a 168bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit or a 2.0dCi diesel. The range-topper is likely to debut a powerful new 3.5-litre petrol V6 shared with its Nissan stablemate, the 350Z.

Prices are yet to be confirmed, but the coupé will cost more than the equivalent hatchback when it goes on sale next year. Entry-level versions are set to start at around ?25,000.
