When the motor show comes to town, Detroit really starts to live up to its Motor City nickname. Ford is naturally big news at the US expo, and this year’s press conference was just as spectacular as ever.

NASA has set up a division to develop flying cars. The American agency responsible for putting people into space now wants to put drivers in the air. It plans to have a single-seater ready within 10 years and a four-seater by 2019. The theory is that motorists would fly between airports and drive only on local roads.

Taking on prestige rivals...

Taking on prestige rivals such as the BMW 1-Series and Audi A3 Sportback, the newcomer will make its debut towards the end of 2008. It is likely to be badged C50, and is effectively a C30 with two rear doors – as our picture shows.

Proceedings commence...

Proceedings commence at 11am with the Duke of Marlborough presenting prizes at 3pm. This will be followed by a Parade taking place around the lake and across the bridge.

The Palace is situated in the picturesque and historic town of Woodstock, eight miles North West of Oxford on the A44 Evesham Road, and approximately an hour"s drive from London and Birmingham. Approaching Oxford on the M40, exit at junction 9 and follow signs to Blenheim.
