The model was actually on the stand of Indian manufacturer TATA - the firm which builds the hatchback and the CityRover. Called the Indigo Advent, it"s based on the estate version of the Indica, labelled Indigo SW, which is expected to be available in Britain by the middle of next year.

Manufacturers will fit all cars in a model range with the same capacity unit, but alter their power output using the ECU, claims Martin Illsley, director of research at technology company Accenture. The move could help to reduce production costs.
