Off-duty police stay true to blue

The job you do could dictate the colour of car you prefer, new research has found.

A study of one million drivers has revealed that police officers are seven per cent more likely than average to choose models in blue. Undertakers are twice as probable to want their vehicle’s bodywork sprayed in cheerful yellow, and debt collectors prefer to stay out of the red – as they are 19 per cent less likely to pick that shade of paint.

The research, conducted by online insurer elephant.co.uk, says barristers are four times more likely to drive a brown car, while chefs prefer a hue that matches their overalls – white!
