The car was given a makeover two years ago, but the changes were confined to the engines, suspension and interior, making the S-Type better to drive than it had been at launch. Now, the Coventry firm has given its mid-size exec a fresher exterior, plus further cabin revisions. And, as we revealed last year, there will be a diesel for the first time.

THE BRITISH Formula Three International Series gets underway on Easter Sunday at Oulton Park.

This year’s championship has attracted a 33-car grid with drivers from 20 countries. What promises to be a hard-fought title race will be won and lost over 22 rounds staged at all the UK’s major motorsport venues throughout the summer. Three prestigious European destinations are also included in the schedule, with a street race in the Romanian capital of Bucharest, as well as showdowns on the grand prix circuits of Monza, Italy, and Spa in Belgium.
