Is the end in sight...
Is the end in sight for misfuelling? Fuelrite is a plastic cover specially designed to end the misery of filling up with the wrong fuel.
It’s won Auto...
It’s won Auto Express’s tyre test for the past two years, and now Vredestein has launched a new version of its high-performance Ultrac Sessanta rubber, this time targeted at the SUV market.
Styled in conjunction with Italian design house Giugiaro, it’s aimed at models such as the Mercedes GL-Class, Audi Q7 and Range Rover Sport. As with the car tyre – which is also updated – the newcomer uses Vredestein’s wide-grooved asymmetric pattern, which maximises the rubber on the road while retaining good water-shifting capability.
Underneath the familiar tread, the sidewall and shoulder are stronger than those on the standard tyre to help it cope with the greater weight of a high-performance SUV. The new silica-based compound includes temperature-sensitive resins to maximise grip in both wet and dry conditions, and also promises greater durability.
The initial range of 12 tyres covers 17 to 22-inch wheels, and while prices have yet to be announced, supplies should be with dealers later this month.
