Engineers at the German brand will be getting their knuckles rapped, because our spies have caught the next X5 off-roader on film, too. This is the best picture yet of the newcomer, and the barely disguised prototype’s distinctive headlights plus chunky front bumper are clearly visible.

It is guaranteed to keep your passengers entertained on long journeys with its array of functions. Not only can you use the Vision Pro 7985 to show movies on DVD, but if you specify the optional analogue and DVB tuner, you will be able to receive television and FM radio programmes, too.
On test, the reception was excellent, the seven-inch, wide-angle colour display was picture-perfect and its touchscreen menus couldn’t have been easier to navigate. Even if you do go wrong, the single red button on the bottom left of the device sends you back to what is effectively the home page and enables you to start re-programming. Now that’s neat.
But this is no one-trick pony. You can also view digital images or listen to MP3 music files, as the device has slots for an SD/MMC card or USB stick. Sound quality is top notch, although this doesn’t come as a big surprise because the Becker brand is owned by audio specialist Harman.
The new Vision Pro isn’t exclusively for in-car use, though; you can also hook it up to your home hi-fi or television for a flexible and powerful entertainment gadget.
