In these latest photographs, the 4x4"s front end is now fully visible, with Audi"s distinctive four-sided grille on display. When the Q7 goes on sale early next year, it will be available with a range of petrol and diesel engines taken from the A6.

Meanwhile, Audi has unveiled a new 4.2-litre TDI unit for the A8, which it says is the most powerful diesel in the world. The eight-cylinder motor pumps out 326bhp, and can propel the luxury saloon from 0-60mph in less than six seconds.
