General Motors insiders...

General Motors insiders have revealed that media and public enthusiasm for the GTC, which showcases the next-generation Vectra - due on sale in mid-2008 - has forced a rethink about the production of a coupé version.

The concept, revealed by Auto Express in Issue 951, was one of the stars of this month"s Geneva Motor Show.

A source said: "The original view was that the numbers did not stack up for a coupé, but we are looking at it again. Potential sales of two-doors badged as Australian Holdens and American Saturns mean it could be viable."
