The Solihull-based firm has confirmed the return of its tough adventure competition, which will cross two continents and four countries. The event kicks off in Bangkok, Thailand and finishes in Bolivia, South America. Competitors from 18 nations will drive, cycle, climb and kayak during the gruelling month-long competition, all trying to win the first prize of a new Range Rover.

The four-stroke engine provides enough pace to keep up with traffic at motorway speeds – handy if your commute includes faster roads. It has a top speed of around 85mph, although Piaggio says the extra grunt is available lower in the revs, too, for nippy performance in town.

The MP3’s clever tilt mechanism allows the two front wheels to lean, as on a normal scooter, to boost grip and stability. There’s under-seat storage for a helmet, while the fairing protects riders from the weather. And it comes with a two-year warranty and 12-month recovery package.
