The tiny beacons were installed less than a year ago on a three-mile stretch of the A12 near Witham in Essex. The theory was they would reduce the accident risk because they"d be permanently illuminated.

Reaching UK dealers before the end of the year, it will rival the Audi A4 Avant and BMW 3-Series Touring. The Wagon has the same sharp nose as the BLS saloon, but adds an LED brake light in the rear spoiler and silver roof rails. There"s a choice of three 2.0-litre turbo petrol engines and a flagship V6, while the sole diesel is a 150bhp 1.9-litre. The range will start at just under ÷£22,000.

Feast your eyes on the next baby Ferrari! Our spy snappers have snapped some more shots of the upcoming F450. Packing a new 4.5-litre V8 engine, it"s going to replace the F430 in Ferrariò€™s line up next year.

These fresh snaps show what looks like a yellow F430 Scuderia out for a drive round town, but a closer look reveals a huge new rear diffuser. Not only does this diffuser do its job, but it gives the rear of the car a sportier look than its predecessor.

As well as a larger engine and improved aerodynamics it"s likely that the F450 will use a version the F1 inspired KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) system, which recovers energy from braking and turns it into usable power.

As well as a rumoured 500bhp power output, the F450 will benefit from more exotic shape than other recent Ferraris ò€“ check out our spy shots of the near production-ready car here. Weò€™ll find out even more about the car at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
