THE inventor of the three-point seatbelt has been entered into the European Automotive Hall of Fame four years after his death. Nils Bohlin, who died aged 82 in 2002, pioneered the safety aid in 1959 using a Volvo P120 Amazon. His work with the firm led to the forming of the famous Volvo Traffic Accident Research Commission. Bohlin joins Ferdinand Porsche and Henry Ford in the line-up.
