Codenamed the MX Micro...

Codenamed the MX Micro Sport, the newcomer will be aimed directly at the Renaultsport Clio 182 and forthcoming Vauxhall Corsa GSi. The car is powered by the gutsy 150bhp 2.0-litre engine that made its debut in the Mazda 6, and should be capable of reaching a top speed of around 130mph.

EVEN if electric cars do emit more CO2 than their petrol equivalents, manufacturers arenò€™t being deterred from pushing the technology further!

Chrysler has revealed a trio of battery-powered models ò€“ but only one of the Chrysler EV, Jeep EV and Dodge EV will go into production, from 2010. And bosses wonò€™t say which.

The Dodge is a rear-wheel-drive sports car based on the Lotus Europa. It features a 268bhp electric motor mated to a lithium-ion battery pack, covers 0-60mph in less than five seconds and has a 120mph

top speed. The Jeep and Chrysler EVs are based on the Wrangler and Grand Voyager respectively, and mate an electric motor to a small petrol engine.
