Designed as a "world"...

Designed as a "world" car mainly for developing markets - and caught by our spy photographers in last week"s magazine - the newcomer will go on sale as the Logan. But it will wear two different manufacturers" badges, depending on where it"s being sold. In countries where Renault is already established, it will get the Dacia nameplate. However, in places such as Russia, where the French maker has no significant presence, the car will be badged Renault.

Determined to be taken...

Determined to be taken seriously in the world’s car market, Chinese firm Brilliance is ready to launch its Ford Focus challenger.

These pictures reveal the BS2, which will be officially unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show at the end of April. With similar styling to a Chevrolet Lacetti, it’s set to break new ground for the ambitious car maker.

Available with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, the BS2 is primarily engineered for mass production in its native Chinese market, but could also go on sale in Europe in the next 18 months.
