Described as a cross between the "elegant DB9 road car and the powerful DBR9 race car", the DBS is also a genuine hint of where AM is taking its road cars.

The Aston Martin Chairman, bearing the Bond-villain-esque title Dr Ulrich Bez, described the car as "explosive power in a black tie".

With the previous stellar film performances by 007"s Aston"s - from the ejector-seated DB5 in Goldfinger to the ice-driving, instantly-invisible Vanquish V12 in Die Another Day - fans can expect more gadget-laden pyrotechnics and stunt driving in Casino Royale, out in November.
