Following on from the official pictures of the new Toyota RAV4"s exterior, which we revealed last week, this is the first look inside the SUV. Quality has been improved over the outgoing model, with extensive use of soft-touch materials and plastics. Fresh design features include a striking silver centre console, which houses controls for the stereo, ventilation and optional sat-nav.

It’s supplied in a heavy-duty case, and features a multi-position ‘D’ handle, and a six-inch backing plate with a Velcro base, making pad swapping simple. Polishing pads come in a variety of grades –from very soft to more abrasive for harsher polishes or mild cutting agents. Disappointingly, though, none was included, and at ?13 each plus the machine price, the package is clearly aimed at real enthusiasts and concours competitors.

Aston Martin has revealed...

Aston Martin has revealed the drop-top version of its special edition V8 Vantage N400 – and it’s a stunner!

Now officially on sale in the UK, the N400 Coupe and Roadster get several tweaks over the standard model. Most significant are the upgrades made to the 4.3-litre engine, raising peak power from 380bhp to 400bhp, and maximum torque from 409Nm to 420Nm.

A Sports Pack also aims to offer sportier handling with uprated springs and dampers. However, for technical reasons the N400 Roadster does without the cornering enhancing rear anti-roll bar of the Coupe.

Despite this, buyers wanting the wind in their hair are charged an ÷£8,000 premium. The N400 Coupe is priced at ÷£94,000 with a manual gearbox or ÷£97,000 with Aston’s two-pedal Sportshift transmission. The N400 Roadster weighs in at ÷£102,000 in manual form and ÷£105,000 with Sportshift. The standard Coupe is available from ÷£82,800.

Extra visual muscle comes from a new bodykit, clear rear lamp lenses and a new grille. Inside, both the N400 Coupe and Roadster come with black leather seats and the all-important numbered plaque. Only 240 N400 Coupes will be sold alongside 240 N400 Roadsters.
