Who said electric cars...
Who said electric cars had to be slow? Audi has stolen the show in Frankfurt with a fully electric supercar based on the R8.
And that means the Octavia...
And that means the Octavia will sprint from 0-60mph in just over seven seconds, and go on to a top speed of around 140mph. The speedy Skoda will make its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and is expected to go on sale in the UK early next year.
As with the previous vRS, it will be marked out from lesser models by a bodykit, and feature enhanced brakes, along with stiffer dampers and lowered suspension.
A diesel vRS will also be available, using a tuned version of the 2.0-litre TDI oil-burner with 170bhp. This model will arrive after the petrol vRS. Both cars are expected to be offered with the DSG double clutch gearbox, which allows the driver to change ratios using steering wheel-mounted paddles. Prices for the VRS are likely to start from í‚á£16,500.
