The UK Metric Association (UKMA) is pushing for the abolition of imperial miles and yards on Britain"s 1.5 million road signs in a new report, claiming there would be many benefits in converting to metres and kilometres. The group has listed examples such as the easier calculation of fuel economy and uniformity with other EU nations as key reasons for undertaking the ÷£80m scheme.
