After 60 years of car production, the doors finally shut at Peugeot"s Ryton plant - with the loss of 2,300 jobs - as a 206 rolled off the line for the last time.

The facility has built more than 1.3 million 206s since 1998, and officially closes on 8 January. However, the popular model will continue to be made - at a new factory in Slovakia.
