A chance meeting with...

A chance meeting with ex-McLaren F1 designer Gordon Murray in Geneva has thrown-up some intriguing revelations. The much-anticipated two-seater T25 city car ň€“ his self-titled design companyň€™s first offering ň€“ is finished and ready for production!

However, besides a handful of demonstration prototypes, the sub-Smart ForTwo sized car wonň€™t actually be built by Murrayň€™s firm. Instead heň€™s looking to lease the carň€™s blueprint out to companies who can build the thing themselves. And apparently a number of big money organisations have already shown an interest, the majority of which arenň€™t actually car manufacturers.

And this is just the start of Murrayň€™s plans. He wants to design a whole range of lightweight, eco-friendly cars and claims that a number of different models, with up to six-seats, are already in development,

ň€śThis is the definitely the future of car design,ň€ť claimed Murray. ň€śSmall flexible design companies will come up with the ideas, while the companies that buy the franchise for that car can build it for a more local market, using locally sourced materials ň€“ saving masses of energy on shipping.ň€ť
